A QR code label carries a two-dimensional machine-readable code that a phone or scanner reads to retrieve information. Unlike a printed barcode, a QR code holds far more data, can be read from any angle, and continues to scan reliably even when part of the code is damaged or obscured.

Most QR codes are printed black on white because it is the safest option. We print QR codes in colour — in your brand palette, on coloured or metallised substrates, and with multi-colour code modules — while keeping the code reliably scannable.
This is harder than it looks, and it is worth understanding why. A QR reader distinguishes dark modules from light ones by contrast, not by colour. A code printed in a light brand colour on a pale background may look correct to the eye and fail to scan on a mid-range phone in poor lighting.
Every coloured QR design is scan-tested before the production run. We check it against multiple phone cameras and lighting conditions, not just a single verifier, because that is how your customers will actually use it.
Serialisation means every label in the run carries a different code. No two units are alike, which is what makes unit-level tracking and authentication possible. We print variable data inline, so serialised QR codes can be combined with human-readable numbers, barcodes, batch codes and expiry dates on the same label.

QR code labels are specified differently depending on what they go on. A vial label needs a small code that survives cold storage; a shampoo bottle needs one that survives a wet bathroom; an automotive component needs one that survives heat and oil.
A QR code on its own tells a customer where to look. It does not, by itself, prove a product is genuine — a counterfeiter can copy a printed code as easily as any other artwork.

Our prepress is in-house — colour management, variable data and code generation handled by our own team, not outsourced. GMI certification is uncommon among Indian label printers and is required by many global FMCG brands.
Yes. Scanners read contrast rather than colour, so a coloured QR code works provided the dark modules are sufficiently darker than the background. We verify contrast at the design stage and scan-test the artwork on multiple phones before the production run.
Yes. We print serialised QR codes using inline variable data printing, so every unit in the run carries a unique code. Serial data can be supplied by you or generated by us.
We print QR codes down to 8 mm × 8 mm. Whether that size works for your job depends on two things: the substrate, since a textured or absorbent material spreads ink and blurs module edges, and how much data the code carries. A code holding a long URL needs more modules than a short numeric serial, and more modules in the same 8 mm means each module is smaller and harder to read. If space is tight, we can often shorten the encoded data instead of shrinking the code.
Typical lead time is 7 to 10 working days from artwork approval to dispatch. Serialised jobs can sit at the longer end of that range, because the variable data file is generated and proofed before the run starts.
